SWIMMING FOR AZZRAH 🏊‍♂️🥳🤿 The SNS & SNT team are proud to announce we’ll be taking part in the upcoming 2026 @busseltonjettyswim Our Cause: we’re swimming for our client and remarkable young boy, Azzrah. Using this opportunely to raise awareness and money for a life changing cause. At just six months old, Azzrah had his first seizure. By age four, he was diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, a rare and severe form of epilepsy. Since then, our days have been filled with hospital visits, therapy sessions, and countless moments of uncertainty. Alongside epilepsy, Azzrah lives with mild right-sided cerebral palsy, Level 3 Autism, is non-verbal, and has an acquired brain injury following a major brain surgery in 2021. What started with an idea while baking on a rainy day, ended up as a huge fundraiser that brought our community together. Friends from various schools, our street, our city and friends of friends and family. After having my own kids, I craved deeper connections than what I was able to build in the hospital system. In March 2024 | began caring for Winnie in the community while still doing hospital shifts. Hospital paperwork felt endless and purely clinical; but working the community allows me to see Winnie's whole world: his routines, wins, comforts, and quirks. When Winnie's family went fully digital to manage his care, we started using CareCorner. The app made coordination simple from day one-and version 2 is even smoother. Medication, toileting, observations, and notes are accurate and accessible with a tap, reducing errors and ditching binders. Most importantly, it gives us time back: more quality care and more fun. This shift for me was not just a career, but a perspective change. He got to go to Aqwa with the rest of the year 10s and he had the most incredible time with two of his support workers and all of his friends. She has a post graduate certificate in paediatric critical care nursing. She has mostly worked in PICU, but also has experience in education, ECMO, Retrieval and regional nursing too. She is really excited to work with SN Services as it’s her first time working in the community and she hopes to make a difference to education in the client’s homes. Schizencephaly is a very rare brain malformation it affects approximately 1.5 in 100,000 US and 1.48 in 100,000 in the UK. Sienna is very RARE “Sienna has the most severe type Bilateral Open Lipped Schizencephaly, but despite this she has always done her own thing and continues to prove all the doctors wrong. The neurologist has said that Sienna is unique and has rewired her brain to do all the things she can and is learning to do, because if you look at any scans she has a lot of her brain missing and “shouldn’t” be able to do a lot.
