Safe transitions from hospital to home for people with complex needs can be challenging. SN Services Director Caroline Yates shared her insights on how providers can navigate these challenges effectively. “When you’re supporting people with complex needs, do it properly. Don’t cut corners. Most importantly, look beyond the diagnosis. Too often, people become defined by their condition - their spinal injury or their genetic disorder - but that’s not who they are. You have to look at the person, their life, their family, and ask what quality of life you can help them achieve. That’s what truly matters.” It is a powerful reminder that good support goes beyond clinical needs. It’s about seeing the whole person and what matters the most in their life. It was so nostalgic and really took us back. Chase especially loved it. He was so awake for almost the whole show (and it was a super late night). Everyone there was super helpful and so lovely. He even had a photo with some people who dressed up so amazingly. Was a really really good night. Dinushika Senevirathna, a Master of Applied Finance student at the University of Western Australia, and I completed my internship at SN Services through the university’s Work Integrated Learning unit. My experience with SN Services has been both insightful and rewarding, offering me a valuable opportunity to apply the concepts from my finance studies to practical business situations. As a Finance and Payroll Intern, I was involved in tasks such as assisting with payroll processing, reviewing financial documentation, and contributing to budget tracking and expense management. These responsibilities helped me strengthen my analytical and numerical skills while gaining a deeper understanding of financial operations within a service-based business. I also appreciated the supportive and collaborative work environment at SN Services, which encouraged open communication and continuous learning.
